HOW DOES IT WORK?
One-day walks are hosted monthly, an hour from London by train. We walk in small groups of 4-6, women only.

Each walk has a theme, structure, and space to think. We spend most of the day in silence, using prompts to guide our reflections. We break the silence over lunch (either a picnic, or a pub for the colder months) and share what surfaced. Sharing is always optional.

WHY DO WE WALK?
Humans have always walked: in groups and alone, to collect food or water, to migrate to a new home, to gather. Walking is one of the defining traits of what it means to be human; the evolutionary step that separated us from our primate cousins and enabled the other defining traits: thinking, and talking.

When we walk, we move at our natural pace. The speed at which we can process, integrate, and remember. The speed at which we are most creative; research shows that walking increases our capacity for new ideas by 60%.

Each walk ranges from 12km to 20km. Long enough for the body to enter a state of physical meditation, the rhythm of foot following foot.

WHY DO WE WALK OUTSIDE?
Outside, everything is a lesson: the weight of a rock in your hand, the way a branch curves searching for light, the decision to put a path here and a fence there, the uncomfortable angle of the hill rising before you, how the horizon blends into the sky.

When we walk, we gather these layers of meaning and carry them with us. Each thought wanders into the landscape, returning slightly shifted, having gained the weight of a new perspective.

Each walk is designed in conversation with this landscape, using the local history, geography, and elevation to guide the prompts and theme.

WHY DO WE WALK IN SILENCE?
In silence, the mind is free to wander its inner world: without an audience, beyond language. Free from the need to perform, there is nowhere to go but in, no one to be but yourself, nothing to do but walk.

HOW DO I JOIN?
Membership is by referral. If you know someone who walks with us, please ask them for a referral. If you don't know a member, you may join the waitlist, which is periodically reviewed.

I am also available to design custom walks for organisations or private groups.

WHAT DOES IT COST?Each walk costs £75, this fee covers transport, a guidebook for the day, and my operating costs. Lunch is not included.
